Senior Engineer– Mechanical Design

Device engineering for medical diagnostics

Seventh Sense Biosystems is an early stage, venture-backed company developing a new generation of health monitoring products that seamlessly interface with human skin to sense and display actionable health information. Our products will offer unprecedented simplicity of use and lifestyle compatibility. These features will promote widespread adoption across a variety of settings - in the clinic, at home, or on-the-go.

We seek an experienced engineer who will be a key contributor to our Device Engineering group. This person will play a major role in designing, prototyping, developing, and optimizing the geometry, composition, and functionality of our diagnostic devices. The work will involve computer aided design, as well as hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing of devices. Responsibilities include writing experimental plans, executing experiments, analyzing data, and making recommendations for future directions. This position is expected to make significant scientific contributions to a highly functional and talented team. The candidate must be motivated to work in a fast paced environment and enjoy interacting with people of diverse backgrounds to solve complex engineering problems.

This position requires a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Polymer Engineering with 5-10 years experience in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated expertise in fabrication processes (specifically injection molding, ultrasonic welding, and vacuum packaging) and development of small-scale medical devices that interface with the body or bodily fluids. Excellent mechanical engineering and design skills, including proficiency with SolidWorks, are also required. Exposure to device manufacturing in a cGMP environment is expected. We look for direct and outstanding communications skills, a work ethic that a start-up demands, easy collaboration with our inter-disciplinary technology team, and a passion for how technology can work with science.

Bring on your uncompromising excitement and energy to help us revolutionize the world of personal diagnostics. We value motivation, efficiency, and working smart. Your creativity and ingenuity will directly impact the success of our business. Behind the scenes you will find top people from the disciplines of engineering and science from world-class academic laboratories. We offer a casual, convenient and fun working environment plus competitive salary and benefits package, stock option incentives, and the chance to grow with the company.
