We seek an experienced engineer who will be a key contributor to our Device Engineering group. This person will play a major role in prototyping, testing, and optimizing the geometry, composition, and functionality of our microfluidic-based, on-skin, medical devices. The work will involve computer aided design and modeling, as well as hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing of devices. Responsibilities include writing experimental plans, executing experiments, analyzing data, and making recommendations for future directions. This position is expected to make significant scientific contributions to a highly functional and talented team. The candidate must be motivated to work in a fast paced environment and enjoy interacting with people of diverse backgrounds to solve complex engineering problems.
Requires a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering with 2-5 years of industrial experience with medical devices. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated expertise in microfluidics and development of small-scale medical devices that interface with the body or bodily fluids (e.g., blood). A working knowledge and understanding of blood flow and coagulation would be helpful. The successful candidate should have excellent design skills, including significant experience with SolidWorks. Exposure to device manufacturing in a cGMP environment would be a plus, as would experience with plastics/injection molding.
